Adversity as a Teacher: How Cross-Industry Learnings Can Guide Your Security Evolution

Eric is a highly innovative, versatile, and dynamic executive leader with over 20 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Technology Controls, and Third Party Risk Management in the Financial Services Industry, primarily at Global Systemically Important Banks (G-SIBs).

In his current capacity, Eric is the US Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank (AMCB) and TD Securities (TDS), and is based in Wilmington, Delaware. Prior to joining TD, Eric was the Supplier Assurance Services Executive at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where his organization was responsible for the assessment, continuous monitoring, and third party risk management activities for a highly complex supply chain with teams positioned across the globe. Eric also served as the Head of Cybersecurity for Chase Consumer and Community Banking (CCB), the North America Consumer Bank Group Information Security Officer (GISO) at Citi, and held progressive cybersecurity leadership roles at Bank of America.

Eric is a champion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) both inside and outside of the organization, including previously serving as the Head of DE&I for Global Supplier Services at JPMorgan Chase & Co., and supporting innovative programs enabling minority suppliers to become cyber-ready to do business within the Financial Services Industry.

Eric is active in the community through board service, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board for the Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council (DCRAC). He also serves as the Financial Services representative on the Delaware Cybersecurity Advisory Council, appointed by Governor John Carney in 2018.

Factory Fast-Forward: How Smart Manufacturing is Empowering the New Workforce Demographic Summary

Christina Upah is the vice president of Attack Helicopter Programs for Boeing Defense, Space & Security and the senior site executive in Mesa, Ariz. In this role, Upah leads more than 4,600 employees supporting the design, production and delivery of the AH-64 Apache and AH-6 Little Bird helicopters for the U.S. Army and allied defense forces around the globe.

Prior to this role, Upah was director of Mesa Site and Attack Operations. In this position, she was responsible for overall production of the Apache and Little Bird for global customers.

Upah has previously served as the director of International Apache Programs, where she led the program execution of foreign military sales and direct commercial sales supporting customers worldwide. Additionally, she served as the director for Apache India and Supplier Transitions Programs and as the director of Domestic Apache Programs.

First joining Boeing in 1997, Upah has held positions within production operations, fabrication, human resources, supplier transitions and program management. Most notably, she progressed through program management positions of increasing responsibility, having led the successful program start-up of the Little Bird and Apache international and development programs, with a core emphasis on contracts, estimating/pricing, cost management and scheduling.

Upah holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources and psychology from Ottawa University. She is an Arizona native and serves on the board of directors for the Mesa Chamber of Commerce.

Katy built her L&D career at Walmart for 10 years through onboarding, internal consulting and facilitation, early talent strategy, employee experience, performance transformation, high potential and executive development, and foundational leadership development across the globe. In recent years, Katy won two Make a Difference Awards at Walmart, one in 2020 for her rapid response work on the corporate intern program and onboarding efforts during the pandemic, and another in 2022 for her work on implementing an HR competency model and development strategy for the Global People function. Katy’s team also was awarded the Josh Bersin HR Hero Award in 2022 for excellence in HR development.

Prior to Walmart, Katy worked in higher education, where she taught public speaking and communication studies, held a leadership role in academic administration, and developed and recruited faculty members. Katy has a BA in Public Relations from James Madison University and an MA in Communication Studies from the University of Arkansas.

Outside of work, Katy recently relocated to Minneapolis, MN with her husband, Kevin; daughter, Charlotte (6); and son, Patrick (4). When she’s not chasing her kiddos, Katy loves travel, live music, sports, and spicy food.
