Jon Williamson
VP, Head of Human Resources, North America
Johnson & Johnson
Jon Williamson is the Head of Human Resources for Johnson & Johnson North America. In this role, Jon has strategic oversight of the Human Resources function across the J&J Enterprise in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Jon joined Johnson & Johnson’s Medical Devices and Diagnostics Sector (MD&D) in 2007. During his tenure at J&J he has led global HR teams and participated on the senior management teams for three MD&D business, including Advanced Sterilization Products, Ethicon Women’s Health and Urology, and Ethicon Biosurgery. Jon led several portfolio changes in the sector, including integration of several acquisitions made by Johnson & Johnson in the aesthetic and ENT surgery segments. He has also led enterprise-wide convergence efforts, including serving as the HR Head for the President’s Council.
In 2011, Jon was appointed Vice President Human Resources for Janssen’s Global Pharmaceutical R&D Operations organization, supporting a global employee base for over 5000 employees across 46 countries responsible for driving J&J’s late stage pharmaceutical pipeline. In this role, he led a transformational business model shift focused on reducing the cost of pharmaceutical product development globally. He subsequently took responsibility leading HR for Janssen’s North America Pharmaceuticals business where he shaped a rapid expansion of this business during a period of unprecedented portfolio growth, resulting in Janssen being named the fastest growing pharmaceutical company in the US.
Jon has over 18 years experience in human resources in both line and staff roles. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Jon held various roles with General Electric Company, Honeywell, House of Blues Entertainment and SGL Carbon Group in both domestic and international assignments. Raised near Los Angeles, California, Jon also spent a number of years early in his career as an expatriate international project manager based in Germany.
Jon holds an MBA from the Henley Management College, London, UK and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt and also holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Jon is an avid outdoor sports enthusiast and stays connected with his home state through collecting wines from the various regions across California. He lives in Westchester, NY with his wife and two sons.
