At the North American Supply Chain Executive Summit earlier this month in Chicago we spoke with Michael Dickstein, the Group Director Sustainability and Community for the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company. Coca-Cola HBC is the winner of this year’s Sustainability Award at the EP Awards that took place at NASCES19. Michael shared some of his thoughts on the win, sustainability in general, and how other businesses can learn from Coca-Cola HBC’s experience.
Michael invites anyone interested in picking his brain about sustainability to reach out to him via email or LinkedIn as mentioned in this video.
Here also is his acceptance speech from the awards night. Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company has transformed the way they use water, electricity, and plastic. They have made sustainability a core value of their corporate culture from both the top down and the bottom up. They have worked with suppliers and customers to reduce waste and recycle. They are also living proof that sustainability is not just the right thing to do, but it is also good business sense: They are unapologetic that what they are doing also saves money and improves the bottom line.
In this speech, Michael Dickstein, Coca-Cola HBC’s Group Director Sustainability and Community, accepts this award on behalf of his colleagues. He also promises everyone, “Sustainable business is good business!”
