Melanie (Mel) Steinbach is the Chief People Officer at Cameo, the leading marketplace connecting fans directly with tens of thousands of pop culture personalities in the form of customized video messages, live video calls and direct messages. Steinbach joins Cameo as the company’s first-ever Chief People Officer, and is responsible for human resources strategy and operations, recruitment, total rewards, organizational effectiveness, and culture initiatives as Cameo scales its fully distributed workforce.

She joined Cameo as its first CPO in 2020 to support the company’s rapidly growing global workforce after three years at McDonald’s Corp, where she held a number of titles, including Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer- US and Vice President, Chief Talent Officer.

Mel’s experience before McDonald’s included three years as Chief Human Resources Officer at Milliken & Company, a diversified industrial manufacturer, and 15 years at executive search firms Highland Partners, Russell Reynolds Associates and Spencer Stuart, where she specialized in solving business problems through talent in the consumer, retail and marketing sectors. She holds a degree in Political Science from Duke University.
